Phyllis Schreiber Golf Invitational

Thursday, May 5, 2011 • Helfrich Golf Course
Registration 10:30am | Shotgun Start 11:30am

It’s a tradition that has served our parks well. Each spring, on the first Thursday following the Kentucky Derby, the EPF hosts a golf invitational known for its founder, golf enthusiast, and past EPF board president, Phyllis Schreiber.

Each year, Phyllis gathers her committee of friends and fellow golfers to organize this ever-successful fundraiser for the Foundation.  For the past three years, Schreiber family members Tammy Evans (also a EPF board member) and Troy Schreiber coordinate the event’s pre-planning.  The event rotates between Helfrich Hills Golf Course on the city's west side, and Fendrich Golf Course on the east--allowing everyone the opportunity to play our well-maintained city courses.

The day of the scramble starts with registration and a putting contest at 10:30am. Then players enjoy a light lunch & beverages before heading out to the course for a shotgun start at 11:30am. At the end of the day, players (and sometimes spouses) enjoy a dinner, raffle, and awards banquet.  Traditionally, with Phyllis spearheading the effort, we have great response to the event and raise over $5,000 to benefit the parks.

Cost for a single player each year is $60. For businesses, we encourage sponsoring a hole and getting a bit of promotion in the deal---$125 includes one player’s entry plus recognition/signage at the event.

Mark your calendars this year for May 5 and come on out and play for a great cause! If you would like more information about the Phyllis Schreiber Golf Invitational, email Tammy Evans or give her a call at (812) 424-2704. To register for the event please fill out the form below!
