Message from the President

Welcome to the Evansville Parks Foundation!  Thank you for visiting our website to learn more about us.

In 1981, a group of community volunteers saw the need to help improve, protect, and provide financial support for the growing number of parks and recreational facilities, which were then and are now, such a fantastic asset for the residents of Evansville and surrounding areas.  Today, the Board of the Evansville Parks Foundation preserves this strong tradition of service and is grounded by our mission.

This year will mark our 32nd year of service and our Board Members along with many Foundation volunteers will give their time to the community through organizing and executing two fundraisers:   the 32nd Annual Phyllis Schreiber Golf Invitational on May 9, 2013; and, the 10th Annual Evening on the River on May 31, 2013.  Additionally, the Foundation will continue to support local parks and park facilities through small project grants, all while researching to identify the next “signature” project that will have a major impact on our parks and the community.

The Board Members are also committed in 2013 to the development of a strategic plan, which will lay out the roadmap for where the Evansville Parks Foundation will go over the next few years, by maximizing our resources to address the changing needs of our parks and community. A Planning / Steering Committee will, with full Board involvement, complete an in-depth assessment of the current state of our organization. The findings from this assessment will carefully guide the decisions and plans for the next three to four years

We invite you to join us on this “Strategic Journey” to leave our parks and recreational facilities better than we found them.  Please browse our website to learn more about the Foundation and how to help us by joining as a member and supporting our fundraisers or making a donation.

In closing, I would like to convey I am honored to serve as the Foundation’s President this year and humbled by the confidence afford me by the Board of Directors.  The Foundation has an amazing executive team who are all committed to our mission. I would also like to thank our general membership, sponsors, community partners, and all who support the Foundation, and our mission and strive to improve the system of park and recreation facilities in Evansville.

With kindest regards,

Linda Sartore McClain
